My goal for the 2023 Lava Rooftop Series, set against the backdrop of Norfolk at twilight, was to create a sense of timelessness. To achieve this, I blended contemporary and vintage styles, as well as utilized the interplay of thick and thin lines. The end result, is a flyer the feels both classic and modern like the delicate balance between day and night.

‘Rubber Hose’ is a vintage cartoon style characterized by curvy, rubber-like limbs, lending a dose of energy and quirkiness to its characters. This style went on to influence future screwball, looney cartoon styles. Drawing inspiration from these early cartoons, I set out to create printed and social media graphics that captured the frenetic, zany spirit of a rock 'n' roll show at Gallery 5 in Richmond, Virginia.

Hank & Ella and the Fine Country Band’s album “Good at Being Lonely” gave me the opportunity to collaborate with the talented watercolor artist, Scott Cooper. With the aim of capturing the feel of a classic honkytonk, I set out to make visuals that could be adapted for streaming platforms, Instagram and a physical CD release. The end result is a design that captures the heart and soul of the album.

I’ve developed print and web materials for multiple Lava Presents shows. When tasked with creating promotional materials for the Delirious George and Paper Aliens concert, I took inspiration from 1970s funk music and afrofuturism. The resulting space-age design is an electrifying reflection of the two bands.

For Long Division’s 10 Year Anniversary Show, I turned to the band’s practice space itself, to create a colorful and playful twist on the band’s personality and dynamic sound.
